About this plant
Acacia is a hardy, fast-growing tree with fine leaves and a spreading crown that gives light, dappled shade. It is listed in two sizes: 1.5 m to 2.0 m, and 3.0 m to 3.5 m. It suits gardens, villa plots and large planters in full sun, and it handles Dubai summer heat and dry air well once settled. For the first few months, water regularly so the roots can establish, then reduce to deep, less frequent watering. In summer an established tree usually needs a deep soak about once a week; in winter, much less. Plant it in well-drained soil, because standing water damages the roots. Give it room to spread, away from walls and pipes.
